(Toledo, OHIO) - “On Valentines Day, 2005 I became one of the millions of casualties of our broken immigration system and I wasn’t even an immigrant, but an American born in the United States. On that day, Homeland Security Officers came to my door and took my mother away, leaving my father to care for me as a minor. This was all as a result of a misfiling by my father’s documents by the University of Toledo and disreputable lawyers.
“News of the Senate’s failure to move forward with legislation has disappointed me. It makes my participation on the Dreams Across America Tour more relevant. While my parents feel like it’s too late for them to reach their dreams in America, I’m still searching for my mine – to one day be reunited with them. That is why I’m sharing my story with America and Congress, so that our laws may one day help me reach my dreams.
